Electrocardiography

Electrocardiography

What kind of research is this?

This is a record of electrical signals that occur when the heart contracts.

Why is it necessary?

This study allows us to estimate the frequency of contractions and heart rhythm, changes in blood supply to various parts of its walls.

Electrocardiography makes it possible to identify various disorders of the heart, such as arrhythmias, angina, myocardial infarction. Hypertension a huge role is the identification of hypetrophy (thickening) of the left ventricular wall of the heart, which allows to assess the limitations of the disease, treatment effectiveness, and prediction of complications.

What will happen?

You will be asked to strip to the waist, free your ankles and wrists, and lie down on the couch. Electrodes connected to the recorder will be installed on the ankles, wrists and chest skin. You will not feel anything, because electrocardiography is just a record of electrical signals from the surface of the body. The study lasts from 5 to 10 minutes.

How safe is it?

Electrocardiography is completely safe.

How to prepare for the study?

No special training is required.
